Hi to all. Many of you reached out to our family on Friday when you first got the news of the earthquake in Japan. Fortunately, we had only a few hours of uncertainty before we received an email from the mission president notifying us that their area was safe. Fukuoka, where Kyle is serving, is over 600 miles from the worst hit areas. We all appreciate your prayers on our behalf and ask that those prayers be continued for the many who are suffering from the recent events.
Sincerely, Sandy and Charlie

Hey Friends and Family

How is everyone? We are safe here. It has been really crazy with the earthquake and tsunami disasters. I heard about it on Friday when we were on companion exchanges in Chikushino. We were teaching a lady at her doorstep and she got a phone call and then told us that a huge earthquake had happened in the Sendai area. We didn't really know any idea how bad it was till that night. It is something that you never think will happen to you, but it happened to many many people. It really got me thinking about how important it is that I am here teaching this gospel. And for the last couple weeks I've been studying about the resurrection and the fact that Christ lives today. That is an important truth that will bring comfort and hope to the victims of this tragedy and their families. The fact that we will die is very very real. The fact that we will live again is just as real. I testify that that is true. Well this week, other than the earthquake tsunami news, we had a way good week. There were two especially awesome miracles. One of the Sister missionaries' investigators named Ayako san. She has been coming to church for over a year now and has always been way worried about baptism and making a covenant with God. But through the testimony of a missionary named Elder Nagafuchi (he was baptized a year and a half ago!) she really felt the spirit and knew it was the right thing to be baptized. So, on Saturday I did her interview and she was baptized and confirmed on Sunday! The other miracle was that we were able to teach Funakoshi san's husband and it went really well. We even talked to him about baptism. And he said he wasn't sure yet, but he would talk to his wife about it. The awesome thing is that his wife is just waiting for him to get baptized with her! I see this going really well. I will keep you updated on them! I just heard some sad news though, one of our investigators named Yuki kun's extended family lives in Sendai. And they are unaccounted for. So their family and all of us are very worried for them. Please pray for the Okuyama family. Thank you so much! I have really come to love the people of Japan and it would mean a lot to me if you kept the people of Sendai in your prayers for the next little while. I love you all so much and appreciate all of your love
